It started – and basically ended – in a linen storage closet. On Saturday, March 5, 2011, the residents and staff of White Oak Manor in Charleston, S.C., faced a crises everyone dreads – a fire in a skilled nursing facility. thanks to a well-devised evacuation plan, the 173 residents were quickly and safely evacuated after the fire broke out in Colony Hall near the rear of the building.
