Shower Walls Questions and Answers:
Q: Do you stock any shower wall panels?
A: We stock Bright White Sheet in 4' x 8' (1.2m x 2.4m) sizes. Call your Inpro rep for in-stock inventory. View more information on our shower wall panels.
Q: How do you cut the panels for Shower Walls?
A: Our panels can be ordered to specific sizes or easily trimmed in the field with carbide-tipped blades. Just be sure to fully support the panel while it’s being cut.
Learn more about field fabrication by watching our video.
Q: How do you seam the wall panels?
A:
Soft Seam: Using translucent or color-coordinated silicone to produce a "soft seam" between the panels. Great for allowing subtle expansion and contraction of the building at inside corners or seams covered with trim.
Hard Seam: A 2-part color coordinated adhesive that is pumped into the seam, allowed to cure and is sanded smooth for an inconspicuous and watertight joint.
Learn more about panel seaming by watching our video.
Q: What type of adhesive is used to attach shower walls?
A: You can easily install our .25" (25mm) shower panels with 100% silicone.
Q: Do you need waterproofing membranes using solid Surface wall panels?
A: No, in fact some waterproofing membranes may hinder the adhesion of the panels with silicone. Unlike tile and grout, our Prism™ Solid Surface panels are not designed to weep or leak and do not require an additional layer of water protection, saving you time and money!
Q: What are the standard sizes of solid surface wall panels you offer?
A: Prism™ Solid Surface is available in .25" (6mm) thick panels at 30" (762mm), 36" (914mm), 48" (1219mm) and 60" (1524mm) widths and 84" (2134mm), 96" (2464mm), 108" (2448mm) and 120" (3048mm) lengths. Custom sizing is also available. NOTE: 60" wide panels are only available in lengths of 96" or less.
Q: Are any special edge treatments available?
A: Our panels are made to order, finished, cut to size and we can even provide finished, beveled or radius edges. Work with our team to complete an easy to follow order form to get exactly what you need!
Q: What's the advantage of asking for a Wavy Edge on panels?
A: In construction projects – be it new construction, major renovation or retrofits – installers may encounter wall conditions that are less than true. Solid surface panels with an s-curve “wavy” edge allows panels to fit together with a flat, flush seam where the wall may fluctuate.
Q: How do shower wall panels fit in the shower base?
A: The panels must fit inside the shower base’s outer flange or "water barrier."
Q: Can wall panels be installed over tile?
A: Yes! Be sure the tile is cleaned and structurally sound before getting started. Next, the tile surface should be scuffed up with 36-grit sandpaper. Then, the solid surface sheet can be affixed to the tile with 100% silicone adhesive.
To learn the specifics of installing Solid Surface Panels over Tile, see our installation instructions.
Shower Base Questions and Answers:
Q: What are the different types of shower bases you offer?
A: Inpro offers custom made shower bases offering flexibility with size, threshold and drain locations in both round and trench drain models, perfect for renovations to minimize demo and prep time. We also offer Standard Bases cast in a mold with fixed drain locations and dimensions.
Q: How thick are Inpro’s shower bases?
A: The height of the threshold in relation to the surrounding finish flooring is critical to a successful and code compliant install. The thinner the base, the easier this may be to accomplish so we designed our trench and standard receptors to be under 1" (25mm) thick at the threshold. Our custom bases range in height based on size and drain location so be sure see installation instructions for more detail.
Q: What sizes of shower base do you offer?
A: We offer a wide range of sizes and shapes. Custom Sizes can be made up to 60"W x 72"D (1524mm x 1829mm) with a centered drain hole. See the standard bases we offer.
Q: What is the largest shower base you make?
A: The maximum size we can build your shower base is 72" x 60" (1.8m x 1.5m) or roughly 30 sq. ft. feet (2.8 sq m). Showers this large would need to have the drains roughly centered and will be very heavy. Contact your sales rep for more details.
Q: What type of adhesive do I use to set shower pan in place?
A: We recommend installing our shower bases in a troweled bed of thin-set Mortar. To see more detail on setting the shower pan see the installation instructions here.
Q: Are your shower pans slip resistant?
A: Yes. Inpro’s shower bases have been tested under ANSI A326.3-2017 Test Method for Dynamic Coefficient of Friction (DCOF) of Hard Surface Flooring Materials. Inpro shower pans tested at .67 DCOF, well over the .42 minimum of the ANSI standard.
Q: Do I need to float the floor to meet up with shower pan threshold?
A: For ADA compliance, you must be within ½" inch (13mm) from the finish flooring to the top of the threshold.
Q: What size drain hole do I need to work with our different shower bases?
A: Our drains pair with a 2" (51mm) Schedule 40 PVC pipe. Additional options for other types of pipe are available. The core hole should accommodate the drain assembly and support flange below the drain hole. It will need to be 4.5-6" (114 – 152mm) in diameter depending on your product.
Q: Can we drill a drain hole onsite?
A: We do not recommend drilling any additional holes on-site. The base will be manufactured with the drain location approved before ordering.
NOTE: Any damage caused by such field fabrications voids the product warranty.
Q: What is the difference between a single and double water barrier?
A: Single water barriers require the wall panels to overlap to the shower-floor. This means they need to be carefully notched around the threshold and shaped per the slope of the floor to the drain.
Double Water Barriers provide flat area around the perimeter to accept the finished wall material with a smaller overlapping flange behind it.
Shower + Toilet Partition Questions and Answers:
Q: Can I trim your partitions in the field?
A: We make our partitions to size to fit your needs, so no trimming in the field is required. Our partitions have a durable core material and are completely encapsulated, so we do not recommend trimming these, if fields adjustments are needed, please contact your inside representative for a solution.
NOTE: Field fabrication errors that damage the encapsulation will void the product warranty.
Q: How does Prism™ Solid Surface compare to phenolic?
A: The biggest benefit of solid surface partitions is the ability to renew and repair the material. A scratch, dent, ding or crack can easily be fixed whereas with phenolic if the material is damaged the entire panel will likely need to be replaced.
Watch how to remove burn marks, graffiti, and scratches.
Q: How are your partitions different than HDPE?
A: Prism™ Solid Surface Partitions are renewable and repairable when damaged. HDPE is a plastic material that if damaged will likely require the entire piece to be replaced.

Q: What is the difference in cost between standard stall and an ADA accommodation stall?
A: This is minimal and will fall between 5-10% based on overall configurations of each stall.
Q: What is the difference between our shower partitions and our competitors?
A: In addition to being renewable and repairable, our core material is completely impervious to water. This not only adds to the structural strength, but also reduces the overall weight of the partitions.
Q: What is the warranty on Inpro Partitions?
A: 5 Years. Here’s is our Limited Warranty.
Q: How do you repair our partitions?
A: In many cases, damage to the partitions can be sanded and buffed back to factory finish in a matter of minutes. For cracks, dents or chips we can provide a patch kit to fix the issues in the field. We have an easy to follow video on how to perform these steps to bring you partition back to looking new.
